All-Stars, London Games, Yanks Home Runs, McKay Called Up, Mets Memorial

All StarsHey Now! You’re All Stars…

The 2019 All-Stars Game rosters are out for the Midsummer Classic at Cleveland’s Progressive Field on July 9. The superstars of the sport and plenty of new faces were selected for outstanding performances so far this season. Though it’s unclear why they would be sent to Cleveland.

London Calling…

The Red Sox and the Yankees faced off across the pond in jolly old England for two regular-season games. The two teams slugged it out and scored 50 runs total in the two games. You have to be careful when you travel abroad – sometimes something you eat or drink gives you the runs.

Goin’ Streaking…

With a home run in the second game against the Red Sox, the Yankees have now gone deep in 31 straight games, four more than any other team in history. Even beer league softball teams are impressed.

Multi-tasking…

Rays called up top two-way prospect Brendan McKay to start on Saturday. McKay has rocketed up the Rays’ system as both a left-handed starter and a first baseman/designated hitter. Unfortunately the team cannot also count him as part of the attendance.

Mets Gonna Mets…

The Mets apologized for putting two living players in a memorial montage for the 1969 team. The Mets paid tribute to Jim Gosger and Jesse Hudson in their video. But both are alive. Normally we like to put a witty comment after a story, but how can we ever do better than whoever is writing for the Mets?
