Episode 22 of Foul Territory: A Baseball Podcast is the episode that almost wasn’t due to significant technical challenges during the recording process. Skype was being bitchy and kicked hosts Jed Rigney and Jon Sumple off the the air several times, creating a recording and editing nightmare, so please accept our apologies as it pertains to the recording quality. Still, the guys persisted and were able to kick off with Headlines and discussions about Adam Jones and the racial taunts Boston fans threw his way (as well as a bag of peanuts), Noah Syndergaard’s decision to decline an MRI on his bicep only to tear a lat muscle two days later (he gone!), Aaron Judge’s April to remember and record-tying 10 home runs, All Star ballot shenanigans, Pittsburgh prospects Gift Ngoepe (first African to play in MLB) and Dovydas Neverauskas (first MLB player born and raised in Lithuania), a Cardinals fan being struck by a stray bullet, and a baseball fan who flushed his friend’s remains down a ballpark’s toilets.

This week’s Starting Nine is a tribute to Cinco de Mayo (Jed is very proud of this week’s list, especially the last entry), and Are You Buying It? kicks the tires on Cody Bellinger, Mark Trumbo, Freddie Freeman, Trevor Bauer and returnees from last week,  Dylan Bundy and Devon Travis.

Show wraps with Extra Innings and non-baseball discussions about the NFL draft lunacy, the Kentucky Derby’s one-eyed wonder, Stephen Colbert getting into hot water over a Donald Trump mouth hobby comment, and the robotic Ryan Seacrest joining Kelly Ripa to help you start your day.
