What was Madison Bumgarner thinking? Jed Rigney and Jon Sumple kickoff Episode 21 of Foul Territory: A Baseball Podcast with a brief PR push to get listeners to post reviews on iTunes before jumping into this week’s Headlines and the Madison Bumgarner injury. Despite the injury and a potential extended stay on the DL, Jed’s doesn’t think the underpaid Bumgarner should be overly chastised. However, Jed unleashes some full chastization on Manny Machado for his overly aggressive slide, and Jon counters with it being only “aggressive.” Debating and comedy ensues. There’s also banter about the Blue Jays ongoing DL issues, Eric Thames’ “random” drug testing, the Marlins potentially selling to the Jeter-Bush ticket, Kris Bryant atop the jersey sales list, Luis Robert and something or other, and the commish stating Las Vegas is a possible relocation destination for MLB.

This week’s Starting Nine, in honor of the NFL Draft, features players with football player names. A few gems follow before concluding with a Pujols-Butkus jokefest. (We revert to our inner child for a few minutes, so bear with us.)

Since the first installment was a hit – to us, at least – the second week of Are You Buying It? focuses on Ryan Zimmerman, Devon Travis, Mike Leake, Mitch Haniger, Dylan Bundy and Jeff Samardzija. Find out who Jed’s buying by listening and then commenting on the podcast on iTunes.

Episode 21 concludes with fan favorite Extra Innings and a lengthy discussion on ESPN layoffs and the NFL Draft, followed by Marshawn Lynch becoming an Oakland/Las Vegas Raider and Caitlyn Jenner releasing a new tell-all book that Jed won’t be reading.
