Quote of the Week

“ Most people don't understand marijuana is a drug. ”

This Week in Baseball

How Do You Spell Relief...

This week the reliever free agency market started moving. David Robertson signed with Philly and Zach Britton re-signed with the Yankees—both in the neighborhood of $12 million per year. That leaves Craig Kimbrel, Adam Ottavino and Cody Allen still looking for deals. The way things are looking they might have to settle for slightly less than $13 million per year. I mean can you even imagine the horror?

The Waiting Game...

Two months into free agency and Bryce Harper's and Manny Machado's destinies are still a mystery. Each new day greets us with new rumors about their final destinations, including one that neither Harper or Machado are excited about playing in Philadelphia. To ease the players' concerns, Phillies fans responded to the comments by threatening to make their lives a living hell.

And Twins...

Nelson Cruz brings his boom stick to Minnesota and signs one-year deal with Twins with an option for 2020. Cruz spent the last few years in Seattle as the DH, but they decided to replace him with Carlos Santana. Then they traded Santana for Edwin Encarnacion. Now the team is trying to trade Encarnacion. So, it looks like the MAriners DH will be Joe Anyonebutnelsoncruz.

It's Not the Size of the Ballpark...

The Tampa Bay Rays have decided to lower seating capacity at their ballpark so the field looks more populated. When asked about what the team will do to handle any overflow in the event of a sell out, the team spokesman laughed for two hours straight until he passed out.

Parental Guidance...

Kansas City Royals prospect Brady Singer delivered a wonderful Christmas surprise to his parents. He gave them a letter on Christmas morning that thanked them for their years of support and stated that he had paid off all their debts. Pretty amazing gift, but would it kill him to clean his room every now and then?

On the Air

“ The Angels, home of the injured pitcher, said you know who we really need on this team? Matt Harvey. ”
