Quote of the Week

“ Who would’ve thought that everyone *around* Greg Bird would get hurt? ”

World Chumps...

The bad news is that with a walk-off loss to the Diamondbacks, the Red Sox have tied the worst start in the team's history at 2-8. It's the worst start of the season for a World Series champion since the 1998 Marlins. The badder news is that Marlins team had sold off most of its good players in its infamous post-championship fire sale.

The Juice Is Loose...

Home runs are up this year over last year. And as the home runs are soaring, theories of a juiced ball are circulating once again. Sure, maybe it's just the better weather. But if you think about it, the most likely cause is chemtrails launched by the Illuminati from the grassy knoll.

Please Clap...

The San Francisco Giants don't look like a very good team this year, but they had a nice moment in their home opener when the fans gave manager Bruce Bochy received a huge ovation in what will be his last home opener. An ovation that just kept going. And going. And going. Almost like the fans were hoping not to actually have to watch the team play.

Benchwarmer...

The Orioles' Chris Davis has started season 0 for 19 and he and his $23 million per year contract have been benched. We thought last year was bad for him, but it's getting worse. It's so embarrassing that Khris Davis wants change his own name to Giancarlo Davis.

So Sue Me...

The Dodgers filed $175 thousand lawsuit over missing Tommy Lasorda bobbleheads. The team ordered over 40,000 of the bobbleheads to give away to fans at the stadium this year, but they were a no-show. And now George Clooney has the heist plot he needed for Oceans 14.

On the Air

“ The Dodgers are a very explosive team. They should call themselves Montezuma's Revenge. ”

Yankees Look Like Chumps, Not Champs

There were such high hopes. The Yankees looked great on paper before the start of the 2019 season. A loaded lineup. A flame-throwing bullpen. And a pretty solid rotation. This was a team that looked ready to finally return to …

Ramon Laureano and Craig Kimbrel: Performance Versus Value

Into the Teeth of the Shift Too many articles have been written in the sporting press recently about the folly of Craig Kimbrel’s current lack of employment. Seems some writers believe Kimbrel still offers top-notch performance for the value he …
